Gerard Borely is Chairman of Caribbean Sugar Ltd and a director and owner of Caribbean LED, a major green electrical firm with operations across the region.
Gerard is a global finance professional with deep experience of the Caribbean region. He started his career at Ernst & Young before moving to CIBC First Caribbean International Bank. There, he managed group operations across 17 countries in the Caribbean first as Chief Financial Officer and then Director of Corporate banking. He served as CEO of Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean for Cable & Wireless and as CFO for their regional operations before investing in Caribbean LED with HADCO, a regional conglomerate, where he is now Chief Executive Officer. He is committed to developing manufacturing and sourcing in the Caribbean to allow local economies to import less and export more.
